Alpamayo is one of the world’s most beautiful peaks, and is located in the Cordillera Blanca mountain range of the Peruvian Andes at 5947m. This stunning mountain is considered one of the most beautiful ice faces of the South American Andes. It is no wonder that it is considered one of the highlights of a climber’s career.
Transportation from airport or bus station to the hotel; free time for acclimation. This ride follows the Pan American highway north across the impressive Pacific coastal desert. Continuing toward higher terrain, we pass through the Cordillera Negra (Black Mountain Range) at Conococha Pass (4,020 m.) and into the Santa Valley and Huaraz (3,100 m.). Once across the pass, you will see a charming view of the mountains of the Cordillera Blanca (White Mountain Range), without a doubt some of the most impressive landscapes in the world. You can also fly via LC PERU – flight duration 50 minutes.
Today, the departure is at 07:00 a.m. by vehicle along Callejon de Huaylas, lasting approximately 3 hours. Then, we will reach Cashapampa village, where we will load donkeys with gear and supplies and from here start the climb to Llamacoral. Overnight camping
Today, you will continue your trek along Quebrada Santa Cruz. Along the way you will enjoy the view of Quisuar, reaching the Base Camp in the afternoon.
Time for the hard work! Ascend to the high camp, the Moraine Camp (4,900 m.), which is the high pass between Alpamayo and Quitaraju. In the afternoon, you will have an exceptional view of Artesonaraju and Alpamayo, with a spectacular sunset.
Depart from camp early in the morning, around 01:00 a.m. Head to the steep summit wall of Alpamayo, then begin the climb up the southwest face. Here, you will have the most spectacular view of Glacier Lakes, and several surrounding snow-capped peaks. Then, you will descend along the same route by rappelling until reaching the high camp.
After breakfast, you will descend by rappelling until you reach the base camp. Overnight camping.
We walk down till Santa Cruz valley where is located Cashapampa village at 2970m, then our private transport will pick up us to take us to the hotel.
