Bolivia is a geographically diverse country which some refer to as the Tibet of South America. Walk the streets of La Paz, a city that touches the sky, explore through its most important squares and attractions. Visit the city of Sucre the Bolivia’s most beautiful city and the symbolic heart of the nation. It was here that independence was proclaimed, and while La Paz is the seat of government and treasury, Sucre is recognized in the constitution as the nation’s capital.
Upon arrival to the airport a transfer to your hotel will be provided.
In the afternoon you will take a city tour where you will visit the administrative capital of Bolivia. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in order to start exploring the city of La Paz. You will visit the embroiderers’ street of typical costumes where colorful folk dresses are displayed. Excursion to the historical center of the city of La Paz, visit to the Witches Market (mystical articles of Andean region), Church of San Francisco, Murillo main square, Executive Palace, Legislative Palace, Metropolitan Cathedral and Killi Killi view Point.
Transfer by cable car to enjoy a beautiful panorama of La Paz city in one of the most picturesque and long cable urban air transport in the world. Unmissable visit to the impressive Moon Valley located at 10 km far from La Paz city center, these curious geological formations where created by the erosion of the winds and the heavy rains forming an attractive lunar landscape.
Overnight La Paz
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Sucre, as part of your Bolivia Tour. After arriving in Sucre, you will have your city tour where you will visit the House of Freedom Historical Museum; Museum of the Treasure, which has a high level display of Bolivian precious and semiprecious stones the Convent of San Felipe de Nery or La Recoleta viewpoint; the Asur Textile Museum; the facades of the churches of San Lazaro and Santo Domingo; the main historical monuments and Bolivar Park.
Note: San Felipe de Nery museum is only available in the afternoons, for morning tours visit La Recoleta Museum
After breakfast you will be transferred to Potosi and you will visit a private mine on the Cerro Rico, currently managed by the miners who bought it from the State. Passengers will be able to see the miners performing their job in rudimentary form and in similar conditions as those of the Spanish Colony. After this tour you will be transfer to Uyuni.
In the morning after breakfast you will visit first, the Train Cemetery and the village of Colchani where you can see the extracting salt process and also some local handmade handicrafts. The journey continue towards the first salt hotel now turned museum and attractive little pyramids made by the villagers of Colchani. Afterwards we cross the salt flats while enjoying the beautiful landscapes. Time for lunch (if included). then you will visit Incahuasi Island, located in the heart of the salt flat. It is the biggest from a group of islands that represent an isolated ecosystem. The island is populated by a giant cacti species that measures up to 12 meters high (26.25 feet), providing an impressive overview. After this you will be transferred to you hotel.
Early departure towards the Chiguana Salt Flat in the southern region of Uyuni. You will continue to the Ollagüe Volcanos viewpoint, where you can witness its activity and a dramatic desert landscape. then, we reach to The Joyas Andinas or Andean Jewels which are small lagoons that show the biodiversity. Lunch (If included) after you will visit the famous the Stone Tree; silent witness of Earth’s erosion the you will pass through the Siloli Desert which is a surreal flatland without vegetation that constitutes the entry point to the Eduardo Abaroa Reserve.
You will continue towards the Red Lagoon the amazing example of a diverse ecosystem in a totally desolated region.
Overnight South Uyuni
You will be transfer to the airport for your flight to La Paz.
You will be picked up from your hotel to visit Tiwanaku, the capital of an ancient civilization, situated only 72 Km far from the city of La Paz. During its epic splendor, Tiwanaku was the principal ceremonial center. This pre-Inca ruins started endless archeological debates, the most recent radiocarbon 14 tests show that this edifications date back to 1580 B.C. We will visit Kalasasaya temple (Sun), the legendary Sun Gate, the Semi-subterranean temple (Earth), Akapana Pyramid as well as its museum where it is observed an impressive collection of objects and tools of ancient civilizations.
Overnight La Paz
After breakfast you will be transfer to the airport for your international flight.
