Donburi, Located in the north of Quito, in its modern district, is open from Monday to Saturday for lunch and dinner and on Sundays and holidays at lunch time.
Donburi is a restaurant where you will find original and authentic Japanese food. Their name comes from the typical Japanese lunch, which is made of a bowl of rice covered with a portion of meat or seafood and all sorts of vegetables.
The first time I went to Donburi was after my brother came back from Japan, where he lived for one year. If he recommends it, this must be a good place! They offer twenty two delicious options of Donburis or if you prefer, you can also choose from the most exquisite dishes from the Japanese kitchen such as sushi, tepanyaki, entrees, typical salads and much more. The first time it was not easy for me to choose a dish, but after going for so many times I already have my personal favorites.
It is a friendly, informal place for a relaxed moment with friends. I have been with friends and family and it is always fun to introduce someone to the unique flavors you can find at the restaurant. The service is excellent and visitors recommend the “yakionigiri”, the very traditional “katzu don” and the “macca shake”. My personal favorite is the “kara-age don” with a cup of green tea.
This restaurant is already becoming a favorite to those persons who are looking for healthy food with original flavors. If you are looking for something different this is excellent option for lunch or dinner for. Definitely a place worth visiting!0
