How To Enter Peru

The Jorge Chavez International Airport in the capital city of Lima, Peru is open and receiving flights from the United States.  Travelers from Brazil, UK and South Africa are restricted from entering Peru until March 28, 2021 – this may be subject to change.  Flights from Spain, Amsterdam and Paris are also resumed.

  1. Travelers from the United States are permitted to enter Peru and will be screened upon arrival. 
  2. If a traveler has transited in Europe or South Africa, they will not be allowed to enter.  
  3. An affidavit must be signed 72 hours before arrival, stating the traveler has no symptoms.  You can fill out the affidavit here: https://e-notificacion.migraciones.gob.pe/dj-salud/
  4. Peru requires one of the following tests that is no more than 72 hours old before boarding the arriving flight: a negative COVID RT-PCR test, a negative antigen test, or a medical certificate of epidemiological discharge.  
  5. Children traveling under 12 years old can present a certificate of health issued by a medical doctor in place of a negative COVID RT-PCR test.
  6. The Peruvian Immigration Authority has suspended the stamping of passports to avoid contact.  However, even though your passport will not be stamped, a digital record of your arrival or departure will be created.  
  7. For any domestic flights in Peru, there is no need to take additional COVID RT-PCR tests. 
  8. At any time during travel in Peru, authorities can ask travelers for proof of a negative COVID test.  It is best to keep negative test results on hand in case asked to present.

Is There Quarantine in Peru?

  1. Any traveler arriving in Peru who provides a negative COVID test does not need to do quarantine.  Curfew in place is from 9 PM to 4 AM, Monday through Sunday.
  2. Travelers can also take an antigen test at the airport, hospital or laboratory.  If tests are positive, travelers must complete a 14 day quarantine in accordance with health authorities.

  1. All commercial flights and public transportation are operating.  Masks are required for all travelers and the number of passengers on buses is limited to allow for appropriate social distancing.
  2. Taxi services are available for up to two passengers.
