Sajama Volcano, located in southern Bolivia, is the highest point in the country. The Parinacota and Pomerape volcanoes are roughly 20 kilometres (12,4 miles) apart. Crossing into Chile is the primary entry point, and it is located near Chungará Lake. It is also accessible from the vicinity of La Paz, the capital of Bolivia.
Sajama National Park, the oldest national park in Bolivia, has the massive volcano inside its boundaries. In the park is the Queñua Forests (Polylepis tarapacana) that stand out in this location, presided over by the enormous. At an elevation of up to 5,200 metres (17,060 feet) above sea level, this forest is the world’s tallest wooded area. The Andes are home to a wide range of animals and birds, including the vicua (which is related to the llama), pumas, quirquinchos, and Andean mountain cats.
Sajama, the crown jewel of the Andes, is at its finest between the months of July and September. For the most part, this is due to the increased snowfall that occurs between October and April. Sajama is notable for being the site of the highest-altitude soccer game ever played.
