This experience is highly recommended for nature lovers wanting to experience the true way of life in the open Andean mountains. This tour covers 40km (24.8 miles) each day and is therefore recommended for riders who have some experience.
At 9:30 we start checking the horses and the equipment. Afterwards we ride to the volcano Cayambe, where we visit the Guacho Guacho Communitiy. At 12:30 we enjoy our box lunch and then countinue riding north towards the Guachala Communitiy. You will reach an altitude of 3800m on the Cayambe paramo. When we reach the highest point you will enjoy a fantastic view and then go on through a 20 km circuit and return to the Hostería, where we will arrive around 19:00.
We start again with a check of the horses and the equipment at 9:30 and then ride along railroad tracks towards Cayambe. We will pass the communities of Santo Domingo, Caminos Altos de Ayora as well as the forest Paqui Estancia. At around 15:00 we will reach the campsite (300m) and put up the tents. The campsite ist near the condortrek. In the evening we will start a bonfire and have dinner. After that we will enjoy telling storys around the campfire.
In the morning around 07:00 we will enjoy a campfire breakfast and then check the horses and the equipment. Afterwards we will start riding back towards Cayambe and have our box lunch. Then we will head for the hostería . Once we have reached the Hostería we will have a steaming cup of tee or coffe and enjoy a piece of cake.
