ECUADOR AND GALAPAGOS TRAVEL AND INTERNATIONAL ARRIVALS
Ecuador has announced that travelers with negative Covid PCR tests will be able to travel freely in the country in continental Ecuador. Here is the information you need to know so you can once again plan your trip in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands!
Proof of a negative COVID PCR test must be taken no more than 10 days before entering the country. As long as the traveler does not present symptoms of COVID, the traveler will not need to perform a mandatory preventive quarantine. They will be able to move freely within the continental territory of Ecuador. This is amazing news, because it means we will now be able to welcome you once more to the many adventures you have been patiently waiting for!
If arriving without the results of the PCR, the test must be purchased and taken upon arrival. Afterwards, the traveler must then proceed immediately to quarantine in a hotel, hostel or other temporary accommodation authorized for this purpose. If the traveler receives a negative result, they may continue to travel as they wish in mainland Ecuador. If the test is otherwise positive, they will have to complete the remainder of quarantine through the complete 14 days and necessary health care will be provided.
If a traveler should arrive in Ecuador with any symptoms of COVID upon their arrival in Ecuador, they will be required to perform a RT-PCR test at their own expense and proceed to quarantine EVEN if the traveler presents a negative PCR test at the airport of entry.
