Galapagos Diving Course

Once you arrive to the Baltra Airport you will take a bus to the Itabacca Channel, crossing on a
ferry. Once on the other side and on Santa Cruz Island, a Spanish speaking driver will be
waiting to meet you and drive you to the Highlands of Santa Cruz before continuing to Puerto
Ayora.
The highlands of Santa Cruz are lush and green, contrasting beautifully with much of the drier
landscapes of the lower areas of the island. The dominant vegetation in the highlands are the
Scalesia trees, providing an array of green tones.

When arriving to the highlands you will visit a Galapagos Tortoise ranch where you can see the
gentle giants roaming freely, as well as other highland wildlife such as pintail ducks, yellow
warblers, and finches. Walking among the tortoises in the wild will be one of the most
treasured moments of your trip.
After visiting these prehistoric creatures on their natural habitat and depending on the time,
you may have the opportunity to visit an illuminated lava tunnel. With a natural ceiling nearly
20 feet high in some places, this is an incredible opportunity see lava stalagmites, stalactites,
sulfur, mineral-colored walls, and the rippled floor formed from lava along this unique lava
formations.

The PADI Open Water Diver Course is the most popular around the world, and while in Galapagos, yo´ll
be in the biggest diving community in the world.

At a coordinate time, you will have to be at the local operator office to check in and begin with the
registration, video watching and theory lessons Module 1 & 2 (4 hours).
After lunch (not included) – at 14h00 (aprox) Set the diving equipment and transfer to the pool.
At 14h30 (aprox) confined water lessons (pool training).

After your confined waters dives, you and the new friend’s you´ve made will continue learning during
four open water dives with your PADI Instructor at a dive site. This is where you fully experience the

underwater adventure, at the beginner level, of course.

07:15 Meeting at Dive Center, transfer to dive site (by boat or / by truck and by boat).
09:30 Dive 1 and 2, exercises training in open water dive (5 hours)
18:00 Theory class module 3 and 4.

Meals included:

At 6h20 or 13h20 please be at the pier to check in on the public speed boat. From Santa Cruz pier to the
speedboat you will have to pay the water taxi ($0.50pp). Once arriving in Isabela you will have to pay the
water taxi ($1.00pp) from Speed boat to Isabela’s pier. Finally, you can take a taxi ($1.50pp) to get to
your hotel.

Is a group of small islets found south of Puerto Villamil and a speedboat must be taken to arrive. The turquoise water is home to a lot of wildlife such as sea lions, sea turtles, marine iguanas,
manta rays, and with some luck you can see Galapagos Penguins. Marine iguanas are known to nest
here and sharks can be seen in the various crevices on the trail looping the Tintoreras.
At 14h, 20 please be at the pier to check in on the speedboat. From Isabela pier to the Speedboat, you
will have to pay the water taxi ($1.00pp). Once arriving in Santa Cruz, you will have to pay the water taxi
($0.50pp) from Speedboat to Santa Cruz’s pier. Finally, you can take a taxi ($1.50pp) to get to your
hotel.

At a coordinate time, a Spanish-speaking driver will pick you up from your hotel to Baltra’s airport to
catch you flight back to continent.
