Destinations of the month

In Peru, it is the coffee harvest season in certain regions, such as those of Cusco and Puno. It is also the beginning of the various regional festivals. They are colorful and lively highlighting the culture, traditions and typical dances of each region. These are unique opportunities to experience authenticity and cultural diversity, with traditional costumes.

In June the weather in Cusco is generally good, it is the right time to visit the famous Inca city of Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley.
Concerning the Amazonian forest it can know some precipitations, but that creates a green atmosphere and an active fauna.

Celebrations:

The Qoyllur Riti is a unique Andean festival that takes place from June 4 to 6 near Cusco. It mixes elements of the Catholic religion and Andean ancestral rituals. Participants go to the Sinakara sanctuary, located at an altitude of nearly 5000m. to participate in dances, processions and ceremonies.

Corpus Christi is a religious festival celebrated on the 11th in several cities in Peru, especially in Cusco and Ayacucho. The streets are decorated with colorful carpets made of flowers and natural materials, religious processions are held to commemorate the Eucharist.

The party of Inti Raymi is June 24th, locals celebrate the winter solstice. It is a colorful and festive event with traditional dances, costumes and ancestral rituals to honor the sun and nature.

Lake Titikaka

Lake Titicaca is a lake located in the Andes, on the border between Peru and Bolivia. It is one of the largest lakes in South America and the highest navigable lake in the world, located at an altitude of about 3,800 meters.

Lake Titicaca is known for its natural beauty and cultural importance. It is surrounded by picturesque landscapes, with majestic mountains and numerous islands. The most famous islands of Lake Titicaca are the floating islands of the Uros, which are built of reeds and are home to an indigenous community that continues its ancestral traditions.

The lake is also associated with the Inca civilization and other pre-Columbian cultures that flourished in the area. Important archaeological sites, such as the ruins of Tiwanaku in Bolivia and the islands of Taquile and Amantani in Peru, bear witness to this rich cultural history.
Tourism is one of the major activities of the lake, with many visitors coming to explore the islands, meet the local people, discover the culture and enjoy the spectacular landscape.

Lake Titicaca is not only a popular tourist destination, but it also has symbolic and spiritual importance for the indigenous people living in the area. It is a place with many legends and traditions.
