Rumiñahui is a long extinct volcano located in the Cotopaxi National Park south of Quito. The three high points are Rumiñahui North (4,712 m), Rumiñahui Central (4,631 m) and Rumiñahui South (4,696 m). Unlike the Illinizas Rumiñahui is considered to be only one volcano. This tour is an excellent acclimatization climb with an exciting finish and epic views of El Corazon, Illinizas, Sincholagua, and the majestic Cotopaxi.
We recommend staying at Hosteria PapaGayo Cotopaxi the night before the climb. Prices start from $45 per night.
The weather in the area is very unpredictable and you must be prepared with warm clothing. The climb is approx. 4-5 hours reaching a height of 4712m. It is important that you are prepared for this kind of altitude, we recommend acclimatizing at least two days around 3000m.
