PapaGayo Cotopaxi
Escape the crowd by getting back to nature. Hosteria PapaGayo is located only a few kilometers from Cotopaxi Volcano, the highest active volcano in Ecuador. This 150-year-old house offers everything and more, allowing you to put your significant other in the spotlight. Enjoy one of the cozy rooms or cottages, and have a toast in front of a warm fireplace. Ride on the back of a horse and discover scenic paths that lead to incredible views and quietness in the Andes Highlands.
PapaGayo offers a special Valentine’s Day deal that includes a romantic dinner and Jacuzzi to look back on your wonderful day. PapaGayo is also an excellent location to acclimatize and prepare for climbing tours at higher elevations, such as Cotopaxi or the Illinizas.
Relaxation
Arguably one of the best ways to surprise the person you love or care about is by relaxing together. Take time out for each other and talk, while forgetting about the rest of the world. One of the perfect locations for this is Papallacta Spa, located 60 kilometers east of Quito, at the doorstep to the Amazon Rainforest. Here, you can relax in one of the thermal baths or get spoiled during a delightful spa treatment.
Only a few kilometers away is the village of Mindo, where you can start your exploration of the Mindo-Nambillo Rainforest. The Mindo cloud forest is famous for its enormous variety of butterflies, birds and plants, such as the orchid or bromeliad. Discover the beauty of the rainforest, make your way through diverse waterfalls or take a canopy tour in the trees. Give your lover the gift of chocolate from the nearby chocolate factory and you will surely have a Valentine’s Day to remember.
An Enchanting Galapagos Islands vacation
Perhaps, the perfect place to celebrate Valentine’s day is the Galapagos Islands. Their stunning beauty is no match for the rest of the world. Board one of the luxurious ships, yachts or catamarans, and enjoy top-notch comfort and personal care while you visit these seemingly alien islands. The Galapagos Islands are perfectly suitable for romantic occasions. Can you imagine yourself having dinner on the deck of a ship while overlooking the clear light blue water full of sea lions, penguins and seals? Swim alongside your partner while the Galapagos green turtle swims past you. This is an unforgettable experience that only a Galapagos tour can provide.
These are only a few of the wondrous locations you and your lover can visit in order to make Valentine’s Day truly special. Forgot that it’s almost Valentine’s Day?
